UKRGASBANK Showed High Performance Results According To NBU Stress-Test
On December 28, 2018, the National Bank of Ukraine announced the results of stress-testing for 25 largest Ukrainian banks. Stress-tests were run under baseline scenario which envisaged normal development for the Ukrainian economy, as well as under stressed scenario, envisaging significant deterioration in the macroeconomic situation.
According to the stress test results, UKRGASBANK has demonstrated high assets quality and capital adequacy level and therefore it does not require additional capitalization; like by the results of 2014-2015 stress-tests.
At the same time, according to the NBU, stress testing in 2018 showed that eight banks required capital under baseline scenario. "The capital requirement amounts to UAH 6 billion. All these banks should cover the capital requirement by completing the capitalization plan until April 2019. Under worst-case scenario, the capital requirements are much higher. The weighted average of capital adequacy ratio would drop approximately to 3%. The total estimated capital requirement for 12 financial institutions equals to UAH 42 billion", the NBU report says.
